Self-hosting

Running your agent stack on infrastructure you control, with your own model provider keys.

also known as: self-hosted AI
In depth

Self-hosting is the alternative to hosted agent products like Cursor, Copilot, or Devin. Your code stays on your machine, your prompts stay readable, your model provider is your choice, your cost is what your provider charges per token. The trade-off is operational: you maintain the runtime, you bring the GPUs (if you go open-weight). For teams with compliance constraints or strong privacy preferences, it is the only option.
